Matt Le Meur // Creative Director

// about

Hi, I’m Matt.

If you’re anything like me, you skipped the headline and went straight to the comments, or in this case, the profile. Either way, you made it here safely. So welcome.

A little about me: I was both honored and mildly confused when my agency leadership team considered me for Ad Age’s 40 Under 40… at the age of 43. Rather than argue with math, I did what any responsible creative director would do. I used AI and rebranded myself.

I’m a dad (papa) to a 4-year-old, which is basically a full-time masterclass in humility, patience, and negotiating with a tiny CEO who runs on snacks and chaos. No one really prepares you for how steep the learning curve is when you’ve spent your earlier years traveling the world and collecting stories, only to come home and realize your toughest client now lives in your house. The good news: he’s awesome.

Professionally, I love advertising and storytelling that actually earns attention. I believe in a “think-first” approach: step away from the screen, pick up a pen, sketch it out, talk it through, let the idea breathe before it becomes pixels. And now, I also see AI as a creative partner in that process, not as a shortcut, but as a collaborator that helps expand thinking, test directions faster, and build out ideas that might otherwise stay stuck in a notebook. The teams I’ve led who embrace that blend of analog thinking and modern tools tend to make sharper, braver, and more human work.

At the end of the day, I’m focused on making great ideas with great teams and pushing the work to be clearer, braver, and more effective every time.

// some nice things were said about me

Matt is a very talented Creative Director and a crucial team member on FNBO. He approaches all projects with a solutions mindset, curiosity, and creativity. Matt does not just accept status quo; he pushes himself and his team to seek creative solutions that go beyond the assignment or what’s been done in the past. He leads with empathy and enthusiasm, setting the right example for those that report to him. He’s developed strong and trusted relationships with his team and our clients. His design skills are impeccable not only in the work he produces but also in his evaluation, critique and direction of his team’s work. I’ve seen Matt work hard this year to deepen his understanding and knowledge of our client’s business and the financial industry which has had a big impact on the creative product and the kind of client feedback we receive. I value Matt’s opinion, I trust him as a peer and I respect him as a partner in furthering the success of our team and our client work.

// Director of Strategy

Matt has the positive "can-do" attitude that has motivated him in his work; it pushes him out of his boundaries and serves to create ideas that are not afraid to push the client. He spends time coaching peers on accountability, attitude, and holds them responsible for their work and schedules; motivates them to lead vs lean.

// VP Client Services

Matt is a very talented Creative Director and a crucial team member on FNBO. He cares deeply about the work and his team. Matt never fails to dig in to look for innovative and extraordinary solutions to client challenges. His work on FNBO has expanded the business, created strong client relationships and grown the team's confidence and skillsets. Matt is doing a fantastic job.

// Senior Copywriter

Last time I was talking about Matt, I was telling our new VP Account Director that when I inherited him, then I stopped and I had to correct myself and said, “when I was gifted Matt.” He came in here are completely revamped the creative process with a focus on thinking, storytelling, and selling the work.

// VP Creative Director

Matt is a kind and empowering leader who truly wants the best for his team. He is a fierce advocate for his people and I can tell that he makes assignment decisions with his team's development in mind. He himself is a powerful creative and contributes fantastic ideas to our account team's work.

// Senior Art Director

Matt is a fantastic people leader. I really appreciate the way he prioritizes growing the talent on his team, and have noticed it even more in 2023. He's elevated Patrick and Adam to be the day-to-day leaders of the account, both empowering them to own the work and mentor the more junior team members. I know Matt hosts training sessions and regularly meets with all members of the team to check in on bandwidth and resourcing.
